Our annual open unofficial dressage day was a huge success

Since the Australian Crabbet Arabian Convention held at Werribee Park last October (2016) we have been fairly quiet as a group. Hosting and competing in such a massive event was exhausting for our small group. However, our annual Open Unoffical Dressage Day held at Elcho Park Lara, Victoria on June 3 was a huge success for our club.

This year’s attendance had doubled from our previous years with 115 entries and nearly 300 tests being ridden. With eight arenas running all day and our canteen girls Mel Somerville and Ebony Pidoto cooking and preparing food for the masses, the five of us pulled off another great day.

Unfortunately only a few registered Arabians entered, hopefully next year more will attend. We have great prizes including sashes for highest placed Arabian in each section.

Our sponsors each year have been fantastic, donating rugs and horse products – Horseland Geelong, Ranvet, Kelato, Virbac, Melandah Arabians, Aldersyde Arabians, Shahwanpark Arabians and Ebjarah Arabians. We are very grateful for all the support we have received for this event and from our helpers on the day.

Our future event days will include Extreme Obstacles and Cowboy Dressage. Notifications will be published through Facebook on the Australian Crabbet Arabian Association page.
